European Commission hearing: Poland's Janusz Wojciechowski (opening statement)

MEPs today continue the process of grilling nominees for Ursula von der Leyen’s European Commission.

Poland’s ruling Law and Justice Party, which has clashes with the European Parliament on several occasions, has appointed Janusz Wojciechowski as European Commissioner-designate for Agriculture.

Before the hearing, EU’s anti-fraud agency “OLAF” said Wojciechowski had “unduly” received €11,243 in travel and living expenses when he was an MEP, but Wojciechowski has since paid back the funds.
