How is the Sony 12-24 for astrophotography?

When we think about astrophotography we immediately think about an f/2.8 lens or perhaps a wide prime, like a 14mm f/1.4. But what about the Sony 12-24mm? This lens has been out for a while and now that we have several brighter wide angle lenses to choose from, does it still have a place at the table? If so, what is it? In this video I’ll share the experience I had shooting night sky pictures with this lens and how my thinking on it has changed over time.
