Karel Gott – Stranger in Paradise (1970)

“Stranger in Paradise” is a well-liked music from the musical Kismet (1953), and is credited to Robert Wright and George Forrest. Like virtually all of the music in that present, the melody was taken from music composed by Alexander Borodin (1833–1887), on this case, the “Gliding Dance of the Maidens”, from the Polovtsian Dances within the opera Prince Igor (1890). The music within the musical is a lovers’ duet and describes the transcendent emotions that love brings to their environment. Later variations have been largely edited to be sung by male solo artists.
