Massive Avalanche Delayed the Peak Chair Opening!

Just like the title says. They were ready to open the Peak Express but Cornice Control on West Bowl created a 3.5 avalanche with a crown 3 metres tall said the Pro Patrol at Whistler. That is a MONSTER. Right down to the PWL!

They had to bring in a Heli to finish off the job so there was no Hang Fire left.

They could have just as easily said the chair is closed but they made an amazing effort to open the Peak. The path even went right over Hwy 86 into Love Canal and took out trees!

They also brought in a Groomer to clear the Debris from Hwy 86.

Way to go Whistler for getting this done so we could have another epic day off the Whistler Peak!

More to come from this amazing day!
