Tateyama Castle was once controlled by the military Satomi clan for 170 years starting from the middle of the 15th century. The current state of the castle consists of the castle tower which was reconstructed in 1982. From the tower, you can get a panoramic view of the ocean and city. The entire area is a park which has been created to provide a resting place for local citizens.
