Walking tour of Istanbul I European side I Turkey

You will see the New Istanbul Airport at the beginning which is about 40 minutes drive from Istanbul and the area we stayed at was in Eminonu. The new airport is much easier to get to rather than the Sabiha Gocken Airport which actually took 1hr 30 mins to get to the Eminonu Istanbul due to the traffic. The old Ataturk airport is no longer in use for passenger flights and is now only used for cargo flights.

You will find the location of the new airport below.

We strolled in the Eminonu and Sultan Ahmet area which is where majority of the tourist attractions are which can be a disadvantage as the food prices in the restaurants are much more expensive. But we would highly recommend the non-standard Turkish restaurants that display their dishes on their windows such as their own version of lasagne, rice and loads of other dishes; the food is tasty and they are cheap too.

There is the grand bazaar in this area nestled in between the maze of streets which has a myriad of shops.

We stayed at the fairly newly opened Mercure Sirkeci Hotel, located in a side street just off from the main street.

Address of the hotel is; Hobyar, Muhzirbaşı Sk. No. 6, 34112 Fatih/İstanbul, Turkey. We would recommend the hotel as the rooms and service was exceptional, click on the link below to view Mercure Sirkeci prices;

Please ask if you have any questions. All of our videos have no nasheed or additional sounds as we would like to give you the full experience of listening to the sounds of the locations.
