I decided to head back to Yasur volcano (due to a couple of other volcano trips that fell through) and thankfully it has been going through a pretty active phase with a sizable lava lake/pond at the bottom.

Large pulses were observed from the lake, as well as very large strombolian eruptions, with lava bombs going a couple of hundred metres above the height over the crater. At some stage overnight between the 26th and 27th, a very large landslide occurred just below point 5 (presumably from a large eruption) completely covering up the lake. No major eruptions were observed during the next several hours.

This is just a sample video, with an extended one to come over the coming weeks, please note that the last explosion produced a monster shock-wave that made my camera drop and point to the ground.
